Ibegan teaching private lessons from 2004 and tried to consistently teaching students in my home studio. I was a counselor and private lesson instructor at the OSU Flute Workshop from 2011 to 2013. Playing duets with student, learn very exciting extended techniques, and various repertoire are features I emphasize for students to help them enjoy and motivate to learn. I taught the saxophone section the basic fundamentals of saxophone, along with properly assembling and taking apart their instrument. This helped evolve my skills for new and beginning level music students to make playing instruments fun, enjoyable, and not too overwhelming or difficult to dull their desire to learn and progress. For all ages and all instruments, you will be working on scales, chord progressions, transposition and reading of music for piano; scales, lip slurs, technical etudes, long tones, transposition and reading of music for trumpet; and scales, slurs, technical studies, transposition and reading of music for flute. For all instruments, there will be one key book that will cover everything you need to know. I have a more laid back teaching style that is adapted to the student's personality and learning style. The last thing that any student wants is a stressful environment. Musical lessons should be challenging and have an element of fun as well. The student should leave the lesson wanting to come back to another lesson not feeling like they should put their instrument down and give up. I focus on the positives and give methods on how to overcome the negatives.  Ultimately, I want the student to go back to their organization and be able to correct discrepancies as a result of what they have learned.  Read More
