Additionally, practicing consistently teaches discipline. Even for beginners, it is better to practice for 10 minutes every day than four hours once a week. I am a flutist, improviser, and composer with a bachelors degree in Jazz Flute Performance from the New England Conservatory of music. As a past member of the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra and a Bruce Montgomery Foundation Springboard Grant winner, I am experienced in classical competitions at the middle/high school level. I have not yet started my teaching career but I am super excited to start gaining experience with all of you! I have taken a flute pedagogy class at my undergraduate, Gettysburg College and a woodwind and brass method class during my graduate studies at The Longy School of Music. I like to sit with my students and have them learn about the parts of the instrument as well as getting to know their instrument.
