I began teaching in Mississippi in 2011 to college students at the University of Southern Mississippi. After moving to Cincinnati, I began teaching preschool music. I began developing a preschool curriculum at the University of Cincinnati's Preparatory Program that combined reading, dancing, singing and imagining. After teaching privately for a year, I began my position as Executive Director of the Cincinnati Outreach (COR) Music Project. I am a passionate teacher of the flute and piccolo. I am currently available to teach lessons at my home studio or online. I have helped students prepare for performances in Cincinnati and Japan, scholarship auditions, and begin the flute from scratch. For my string students, I typically use Hal Leonard's Essential Elements at first, and then I introduce the Suzuki Method for solo repertoire once they have progressed on their instruments. For my vocal students, I find what type of music my student is interested in, and I then recommend a voice book that we will pick repertoire from. For my piano students, I use the Piano Adventures series, which includes the fundamentals as well as solo repertoire. Read More
