I've been teaching privately for 15 years and working with music stores and schools in their band programs/music classes for 8 years. I've worked with Brian Wilson at Summit Academy, Jeff Quamo's students at Mesa High and with Mary Price in her general music classroom at Summit Academy. I'm currently in multiple ensembles as well as getting back into choral music which is where I get my experience in musical phrasing and emotion. Read More

I began teaching private lessons during my summers off from college, just a few students at a time. Since beginning my teaching career, my focus has shifted slightly to group piano classes, while still teaching privately after school. I have been a student of private instruction since the age of three, and my experiences in my private lessons have shaped the way I structure my own lessons for students. I firmly believe that my students need to not only study solo repertoire, but also that they spend some time every week focusing on technical exercises to solidify their musical foundation. Read More

I was born in Cwmafan, South Wales, UK.into a house where the Welsh Language was spoken and sung. I was educated in Sandfields Comprehensive School, Hull then Cardiff Universities, where I studied with renowned Welsh composer Alun Hodinott. I taught in the London School system for several years. I emigrated to the USA in 1975, living and performing in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and then moving to Phoenix in 1989. I've enjoyed the cultural and musical variety of traveling and living in many great locations. Read More
Instruments: Flute
I teach the basics of flute playing including how to produce a beautiful tone, how to play with good posture, how to play rhythms and articulations properly, how to sight read and how to play standard flute repertoire. Beyond this though, I believe students who have a firm grasp of how music theory, music history and musical style combine can play with greater musical understanding and expression. This kind of musical training also increases students capacity to enjoy music as listeners because they have expanded musical understanding. Read More

I began teaching back in high school, having a few students for a couple of years until I graduated that ranged from child to adult. I was not able to have the opportunity to teach privately to students in college, as pursuing two degrees was very time consuming and overwhleming at times! I missed teaching dearly, and I am so excited to be done with school to get back into inspiring students. Read More
Instruments: Piano Saxophone Flute Clarinet
I do not usually follow any method book as every student is different, has different background, goals and aspirations. I try to mix exercises/methods that I use in my practice with materials of accomplished pedagogues. I have my set of warm-ups that I use on saxophone, clarinet, and flute; I often find myself using flute method while playing the saxophone which only pushes my and my students abilities and makes them better musicians.
