First I will assess each individual student based on their own skill level and requirements. In each lesson we will work on fundamentals of flute techniques, whether that is posture, embouchure, and/or finger techniques. In each of these lessons I hope to instill knowledge of music theory and history. We will learn many different styles of music ranging from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and 20th Century flute music. In order for students to be successful they need to be encouraged and challenged throughout their musical studies. In order to do this, it is important to focus on the fundamentals of the instrument, as well as music that peeks the interest of the student.
