I began teaching music at the age of 15, primarily guitar and piano lessons for beginners ages 7-14 in my hometown of Parker, CO. At 16 I began teaching my students basic music theory and intermediate instrumental instruction. I moved to Boston in 2012 to pursue an undergraduate degree in Songwriting from Berklee College of Music in Boston, still actively teaching throughout my curriculum. For beginning flute students, I use the Trevor Wye flute instruction books, along with the curriculum that is being taught in the student's band class at school. Students will learn proper fingerings through scale practice, begin to develop their tone through etudes and short solo pieces, and learn to properly use a metronome. Basic music theory and history will be incorporated into lessons. Advanced Students: Older and more advanced students are encouraged to be active in guiding the direction of their flute lessons.
