Since then, I've been teaching for 6 years in the public and charter school systems. At my current employer, Little Black Pearl Art and Design Academy, I orchestrated a master class with Israeli artist, Idan Raichel. My vocal and rap students performed with him during that class and were invited to perform with him at Chicago's City Winery and Ravinia Pavilion in Highland Park Illinois. Although I started out on the piano at eight, I switched to tenor sax at the age of 13 on the advice of my doctor, who suggested that playing this horn would help cure me of asthma. Teaching the student vital necessities to help them expand their own vocabulary with drumming, as well as introducing them to new music styles is a very good way for any student to excel in a rapid fashion. That along with pentatonic scales will really help to develope finger dexterity and get the student adjusted to proper hand and finger positioning on the guitar.
