During my time as an undergrad student I taught percussion and basic piano lessons in the local area. It is not necessary to own a drum set for 3-4 months, in which time students practice at home on couches or beds where pillows represent the different parts of the drum set. I can offer advice when it comes to equipment purchases. I have a method in place for my beginners: a combination of reading, technique and coordination exercises, jamming with favorite songs, and studying their favorite drummers. Read More
