I use patience, clear communication, and having fun to get knowledge across to my students! To me music is about connection and expression, and my goal is to get my students to feel that! I also understand that learning new things can make you vulnerable and frustrated so I try to be more relatable as opposed to an authority figure with my students. When teaching my students, my lessons are relaxed and informal, with a focus on building basic knowledge that will be applicable throughout the musical journey- however, I also pride myself in helping my students enjoy music as well, and have the capabilities to record their playing. This not only builds confidence but is an invaluable source of feedback that I find is often overlooked. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Finance and am currently earning an A.A in Jazz Studies at Saddleback Community College and plan to pursue an M.M following completion where I hope to teach K-13 . As I started my 5 year Music Education minor/clearence program, I started to adapt what I was learning and develop my own style and flow of teaching.
