This is because the techniques used on snare can transfer to every other percussive instrument. I enjoy hearing the students natural abilities, understanding what kind of music pours out of them, acknowledge that, and from there we develop it. I like to give the student the correct tools and exercises to make them a great musician and drummer in any style of music they would like to play. I have enjoyed teaching music since I was in High School. I I enjoy using my experience as a multi-instrumentalist to teach students about the joy of playing with others. Social dynamics in music are important and once a student can learn the basics, I really enjoy encouraging them to find others to play with and learn to experience the music they enjoy on their own. I've been teaching all kids and adults for over 15 years. I 'm awesome with kids (so the parents have told me!)... I don't adhere to any rigid format. I work with what level and progression suits you, and I'm super-easy to get along with. Also, I believe in positive reinforcement. There are some old school teachers who sometimes degrade a pupil when they're not doing an exercise correctly.
