I am versatile and passionate percussionist and drummer who has extensive experience with all percussion instruments and styles. I graduated from California State University Northridge with Bachelors and Masters degrees in percussion performance. I have toured to multiple locations in the United States in addition to performing in several amazing venues such as Chicago Symphony Hall, The Valley Performing Arts Center, and Royce Hall. In 4th grade I got a recorder and from then on I've soaked up all the music experiences around me. I fondly remember my first solo performance was 5th grade, and my first honor band was that summer. By my senior year of high school I had been involved in a couple dozen honor bands/choirs/orchestras including an amazing tour of Europe in a 200 person band! I have a focus on rock and metal drums however can play and teach most styles. I believe drums need to be fun for a student to really enjoy playing and progressing, I can remember being a beginner and first "unlocking" independence between my hands and feet. I do believe the key is just to practice and find joy in that. Drums are one thing in life you can trick yourself into having fun exercising both body and mind as well as having something to be able to progress at, the only way to get better is to play, and playing is fun! I have taught in one-on-one lessons, large group rehearsals, and everywhere in between. I started my teaching with a group of peers and professors while studying my undergraduate Music Education degree. We worked as a group to teach children ages six through 16 how to play violin/cello and perform as group.
