I talk to each student about their hopes and expectations regarding lesson structure and career plans as well as their personal struggles with and without the instrument. My teaching experience dates back to my high school days, as I rose to become section leader of the clarinet section in band and section leader of the alto section in choir. Since then, I have been teaching private lessons to students of all different ages and skill levels, as well as individuals with disabilities. After graduating from college I joined the Peace Corps. I spent 2 years in Tehran, Iran playing in the Tehran Symphony Orchestra. I returned to the U.S. and went back to school to get my Masters degree. I worked as a music teacher in the Bronx, N.Y. for several years. After that I worked at an electronic music studio in Hawthorne, N.Y.
