Clarinet is a wonderful instrument. It is not at all difficult to produce "a sound" on it. Producing a good sound, though, requires some work. Therefore, working on the sound quality is my first priority. Musicality is overall the most essential concept in music performance. I believe in slowing down to speed up, which means really taking the time to learn fundamentals before going beyond that.
