I feel each of my students are unique. I love watching my students' level of musical understanding progress. I encourage my students to practice at least an hour a day, this can be done in ten minute intervals or whatever amount of time the student can maintain focus. Often they already have music that will work, to which I will add developemental studies of various sorts. I make my own lesson materials using musical notation software and cater the lesson to the needs of the student. Every student is different and requires special attention. For example, a beginner percussionist would start off learning how to read and notate rhythms all the way up to 16th notes to start.
