My Student Teaching semester granted me the opportunity to work with elementary and secondary levels; starting beginners and working with students preparing for district band as well as college careers.  It was nice to work with this range in age and skill level, whether they were aiming for career goals or simply playing for fun! Before moving on to more scales and next pieces in the selected order at the beginning of class. I encourage hardwork and try to be prodding by making it clear that practicing is the only way to retain the concepts but I am not "strict." I was a member of the Penn State Marching Blue Band and have participated in several Alumni Blue Band performances since graduating.
