For beginning students I like to begin with a combination of Hal Leonard's Essential Elements and Suzuki Method books. I find Essential Elements to be useful for learning the fundamentals of playing the instrument and music theory. However, Suzuki offers the ability for students to quickly play solo repertoire. I also incorporate learning and understanding scales for the purpose of learning fingering patterns and intonation. Started playing the cello at the age of nine, I grew up pursuing my passion as a classical performer, and now have passion in sharing it to others. I graduated at Boston Conservatory at Berklee with a Bachelors of Music Performance. At the age of 15, I had my first stage debut at the Winners Solo Concerto Performance with the W Philharmonic Orchestra. For stringed instruments, I uses the Suzuki method for teaching the basic repertory of the instruments. This method is an ear training method in which the student plays by ear. It starts out very simple so students of all ages can learn and progress very quickly.
