I started playing violin at the age of 4, and started teaching at 17. In 2003, I started playing viola, and in 2005, I started learning cello. In 2010, I graduated from Stetson University with a Bachelor of Music degree with electives in Psychology. I have played as the Associate Principle Second Violin in the Orange County Symphony since 2011. I love teaching because I love to help people, and I love to share my joy of stringed instruments. My goal is to teach you how to be your own teacher. I want to make practicing still feel a lesson because you have listened, learned, and retained what you need to make you a better player. To do this I adopt a more holistic approach. When I am your teacher you are NOT going to be playing through the piece then I give you some arbitrary feedback and grade only to play it again until the lesson is over. Read More

Every student has their own interest and learn with their own pace. I teach them based on what they need to learn and give them what they want to play. I pay attention to students' basic technique and postures as I believe that having a good basic foundation helps you build up your skill and will help you improve. It's important to develop a good practice habits. Always think and plan before practice, set a goal for each session. Read More

For bass guitar I use the Mel Bay Bass Guitar Method which takes a student from creating rocking bass lines to building kicking bass licks from chord changes.Double Bass students will have classical training, techniques to build a solid, warm tone, use of the bow, and orchestral repertoire, including solo pieces. For guitar I use the Mel Bay Chord Guide Method, which shows on easy to understand positions for chord playing. Read More
Instruments: Piano Cello Music
For all my cello students, I start with 170 Foundation Studies and a modified Suzuki Method (Cello). Once my students reach Suzuki book 4, then they can start playing Bach Suites, and other intermediate repertoir. The Bach Suites, however, are what most of my cello students are interested in learning. For piano students, I use the Bastien piano series by Neil Kjos. I want my students to be interested and engaged, and coach them through basics while also trying to find pieces or genres they want to play. Read More
Instruments: Violin Cello Viola
I will always set goals that I know are within reach for my students. I want to create an environment that will help them develop a passion for music in a way in which they are comfortable, not frustrated. In my mind I am always going to put the person first that I am teaching by trying to find out what inspires them. I will then assess and change my style accordingly. Read More
Instruments: Cello
For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Suzuki Cello Book 1. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire tailored for each student depending on their skill level. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. Read More
