I have been a classroom teacher (elementary, middle, and high school, in addition to teaching adults computer programming) for the past twelve years. I thoroughly enjoy working with students of all ages and helping them meet their goals. I have been playing cello for 20 years, after starting when I was 10. I was admitted to Jacksonville University at the age of 16 on a full scholarship, and there I pursued a double major in Music Theory Composition, and Cello Performance. I did my graduate work at Denver University, where I studied a variety of non-western musics, including Balinese gamelan, Ghanaian drumming, and Tuvan traditional music. In High School, my music practice skills carried over to my academic studies and I was able to graduate with Honors, a 4.00, and earn 14 scholarships to attend college to become a musicteacher.
