Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

I’m a very dedicated, passionate musician who loves working with students and sharing the beauty that is music. I spent my teenage years playing in a variety of bands and touring the country with said bands which only further solidified my love of music. I then attended Western Illinois to study music at a collegiate level and there I received formal training in both classical and jazz music, I graduated this past May of 2018 and since then have been playing full time with a professional cover band named Karma Committee who I play with most every weekend at a variety of venues throughout the Chicago area as well as some venues in Ohio and Iowa. I don't really use method books; instead, I prefer to teach students using material that they like. There's nothing more tedious than studying music that you can't stand - it's enough to turn students off to music altogether. I want to stoke the flames of a lifelong passion, and I believe that all music has something to teach us, so I'm happy to couch the fundamentals into terms that students can understand. Read More

I try to give each student an idea whats coming next, every few lessons or so, while practicing what their on currently. This idea is not for every student so it is a selective process I use with the brightest ones, or fast learners and good practicers.When I see a student really start to play well I gain confidence in my teaching style...but when needed I can dial it back a notch or two. I use some tried and true materials, create materials for students, and create materials alongside the students for their lessons. The materials are dependent on the student's background, strengths, and interests, but there are some things that are necessarily taught to everyone. For example; I use excerpts from Bradford Werner's Guitar Method frequently for reading staff notation on the guitar, because it emphasizes using physiologically simple etudes. Since the music is very physically easy, the student can focus on the cognitive challenge of interpreting musical notation. Read More
