I just recently moved back to Colorado from NYC. Up until the day before I moved, I was working as a private music teacher for over 50 different students weekly, in-studio and in-home lessons, ages varying from as young as 2 to adult. Since I've returned, many of those students have continued with me as their teacher via Zoom/Facetime. The pandemic challenged my regular in-home lesson routine, so all of my instruction takes place over FaceTime/Zoom now. Read More

If you want to learn jazz chord structure we can do that, too! If you want to improve solo on some scales, we can, of course, DO THAT!For bass guitar students I prefer to only take moderate to advanced students. I specialize in bass line composition using only a chord chart. I can teach advanced slap/pop techniques and when they should be used. A good understanding of the instrument is required. Read More

I've taught all ages in studio, in my home, and in students home. I've taught across the DC area and the NYC metro area. I've taught the very young and very old. I've taught for special circumstances and needs of all kinds. Ask me about it and I'll tell you. I can prepare you for auditions, coach you for performance, and help you find your voice in composition. Read More

I have fun with my students. They learn to play songs that they want to play, and I provide theoretical and technical instruction within that framework. Learning to play an instrument is a lifelong endeavor which provides both challenge and satisfaction. I'm an active listener and seek to understand each student's needs and goals. Education is a two-way street, and I learn from my students as they learn from me. Read More

I break my expertise into three different categories, which we can pull from and combine based on the situation. They depend largely on the student's age, experience and interests and are as follows: Music Theory (Piano Only): We explore the mathematics behind music; the elements of scales and modes, how these are used to construct chords and how they relate to one another. Heavily focused on the circle of 5ths/cycle of 4ths. Read More

In High School, my music practice skills carried over to my academic studies and I was able to graduate with Honors, a 4.00, and earn 14 scholarships to attend college to become a musicteacher. Since then, I have had the privilege ofteaching1000's of students, and mentoring several college students. One of my favorite examples is a student I startedteachingin 4th Grade who later added lessons for 3 other instruments and accomplished his dream of making it into the Chicago Symphony Youth Orchestra. Depending on experience level I like to get people making music as soon as possible. I know that trudging through the basics can be tiring. Of course some basics are neccesary but I like to make the basics sound as musical as possible. We will cover the fundamentals but we'll do so in such a way that it won't feel like so much work. I like to use books, depending on skill level, for reference but I have a very hands on approach and feel that the best work to be done together is the stuff that can't be found in the book.
