My students have gone from 5 year old beginners to very accomplished piano and guitar players. The student gets to pick the first two songs of the lesson, and I pick the next 2. That way, they get a lot of choice for the lessons. With the pandemic, the students have been very consistent with not missions lessons, which is pushing their progress as well. For adults or students with more experience, I will cater my lessons specifically to each students interests and goals as I find that this is the best way to keep students engaged and excited to learn.
