I am an enthusiastic musician with a unique approach to the double bass, backed up by years of experience performing with first rate symphony orchestras. A graduate of the Peabody Institute and Northwestern University, making music is a foremost source of joy in my life and I find it equally rewarding to work with students who share and develop their enthusiasm and skills! Symphony orchestra music is really my speciality, and I enjoy helping students prepare for their performances and especially their auditions. Read More

My teaching experience dates back to my college days, having taught private trumpet, guitar, and bass guitar students in Fargo, North Dakota, and continuing to do so in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, where I taught guitar, trumpet, and trombone at B's Music Shop. My collegiate teaching experience began at Concordia College, being a Teaching Assistant for a Brass Methods class, and fulfilling a similar teaching the same course at Central Michigan University. I recommend that anyone starting to learn music begins at the age of ten simply because of finger strength and focus. I also try to ensure that they practice at a minimum of 20 to 30 minutes a day between lessons to help them reach their full potential. I stand by the "practice makes perfect" saying wholeheartedly. I give small amounts of homework after every lesson and try to create a fun environment for learning that is stress-free. Read More

There are several pathways that I lead my students along with respect to their learning the guitar. I provide some of my students with instruction in sight-reading of classical guitar sheet music. If the student does not reach his/her goal and they put in genuine effort and most importantly, heart, then undoubtedly they have gained from it and I am never one to harshly criticize a student. If I think they can do better I will tell them how, but for me, music is made primarily for enjoyment and self improvement and not for the approval of others or to be better than others. Read More

I am an enthusiastic young teacher who takes great pride in watching my students achieve their musical goals. I have been playing music since I was a child, with 15 years experience on the bass guitar alone. I have been touring regionally and nationally with my main project, Electric Love Machine, since 2014 and recently won the 2016 Maryland Music Award for Best Electronic Artist.
