Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. After developing habit-building exercises, my intent as a teacher is to find the balance between encouragement and challenge that each student needs to grow. My goal is to develop and cultivate an excitement for musical practice by helping them discover their own musical style and sound. For beginning students, I typically start with a Sound Before Symbol Method. That is, we learn to get to know the instrument before adding sheet music and theory. Every student's learning track is individualized- So if you want to learn pop music, I will arrange that for the flute! If classical is what you are interested in, I will bring in the Bach Partitas. I've been teaching since I began high school when I started giving private lessons to my fellow orchestra members. Ever since I have constantly taught from my home and through various music studios. I encourage students to focus on what things feel like, and describe them, so that we can focus on what is working well!
