I am a passionate and dedicated musician with a broad range of experiences both in education and performance. As a solo artist, I have toured the United States extensively, and have performed at festivals in the Caribbean and Denmark. Having performed and taught music in so many styles, I feel I can bring a lot of perspective to each lesson. What is taught is dependant on what the student currently needs. Most beginners I work with are using the Essential Elements book that they use at school. For older students I will utilize what the student is working on in school as well as determining weak areas that need to be addressed, and the areas the student might want to focus on (classical technique, jazz theory and playing, etc.). I meet with all my students and talk with them about what their goals are before we get started. Once I learn more about the student, I will personalize lesson plans that I believe will be the best fit for that individual student. Everyone learns differently, so I do not use one form of teaching across the board for all my students.
