I am guitar teacher and concert artist. My Master's degree in Guitar Performance was completed last May. During these two years of my studies at Yale University I had an experience of teaching guitar to undergraduate and graduate students. Before that, I have had a number of teaching experiences in music schools and college back in my home country, Armenia. There, I have graduated from Yerevan State Conservatory. I have also received a Graduate Certificate in Guitar Performance from the University of Southern California (Los Angeles). Read More

Patient, judgement free, creative and adaptive. It takes time to adjust your body to a new instrument, and there will be freedom in the way you learn, and play. We will take creative approaches, and I will adapt to the style you want to take on as far as genre's and interest. For some of my more advanced students I might want to begin teaching songwriting approaches, song structure, and transitions as well. Read More

My music degree has an emphasis on Vocals and Perfomance. I have performed with a few local bands around the greater San Diego area and I am currently the lead singer of "Santana Pa Ti." I have played the drums for twenty years. I learned to play piano, organ and to compose music at Cuyamaca. Self-taught in guitar. I have played in venues such as House of Blues-San Diego, San Diego Zoo and Chicano Park's 47th Anniversary. Read More

I have been teaching guitar, formally, for a little over two years. I currently am teaching students through my own business and other student referral websites. Teaching is key to any career musician's income, my love of teaching is not strictly monetary. To help students set goals, work towards their dreams and realize their potential is an experience I wouldn't want anyone to miss. Besides the joys of being of service and seeing the light come on in my student's eyes, teaching keeps me on my toes, always learning new things and progressing my own musical dreams. Read More

I approach teaching in a way that encourages students to learn at a pace that's comfortable for them. Since the lessons are one -on-one, there is no need to keep up with a herd like you're in school. So I try to give a healthy balance of goals that are attainable only if the student practices and reviewing material from the past to see what has been retained while also showing how certain musical material is not like riding a bike... you will forget without some upkeep.
