Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. My teaching with experience is quite vast. I have taught music in both the classroom, as a band and choral director. I taught Music History, Theory, Global Music that is music from all Countries. I have taught and facilitated Music Classes with fellow Musicians throughout the State Of Connecticut which included Private Lessons and Ensemble playing. I have teacher training in Suzuki Violin and Cello; Dalcroze movement, solefege and improvisation in piano and have applied it to all disciplines; Paul Rolland strategies for violin playing; Aldo Parisot principles for cello playing; Austin Classical Guitar Institute, Albuquerque Guitar Chamber Ensemble and Summer Festival; and Ashtanga Yoga as well as having a degree in Music Education from Western Michigan University. Every student is different and has different dreams, needs and goals. So, my teaching style relies heavily on communicating with my students and their parents, if applicable. My first lesson is focused on setting goals for yourself and unearthing musical dreams and ideas. The following lessons are about hitting that goal as soon as possible. Once that goal is hit, I set another goal with you, and so on. I keep an eye on making sure you get the essentials (notes, finger placement, posture, good habits, etc.) and incorporate the things you are needing or missing into our goals. Read More

A big part of their progress was the scale routine that I told them to practice daily, as well as various other Etudes like the Burgmuller piano etudes and Kreutzer violin etudes. I tell them what they should work on in a straightforward manner and I keep every lesson positive. A relationship with music is a very personal thing. To some it is all about the competition while to others it is simply the joy of playing for one's self. It is my job as a teacher to help each student discover what it is they want to get out of their experience with music and then help to nurture that experience. To treat music like a sport and assume that all students have the same expectations is a mistake that is made all too often with our schools and is, regrettably, all too often the main reason why so many kids choose not to continue with music.
