My teaching experience began in college when I tutored other music majors in music theory. I then went in to become a Choral teacher for grades 6-12. I taught privately for the past 25 years, teaching those grade levels and then began teaching senior citizens almost 10 years ago. Im currently a worship director for a church in the Leesburg area where I work with people of all ages. I earned my Masters and began teaching university but have always taught privately as well. I work with parents to encourage the student to be self-motivated, so I make lessons fun. During the initial lesson, I determine what the student is interested in learning the best approach pace to help them achieve their goals. While I have recommend materials to varying levels of students, every lesson approach is different. With all my students, I believe keeping them engaged and excited at what they are doing is most important. Lifetime musician with 10 years of teaching experience. I studied music performance at the University of South Florida, where I focused on flute as my primary instrument. I have also studied piano, strings, voice for over 2 decades. I have learned under many great music instructors, various members of the Florida Orchestra and also a direct student of Dr. Suzuki himself.
