Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

I believe that in order to be successful we should start from the beginning. With this being said we will first start out with scales and then work our way up. If the student is struggling with a certain scales or notes we will concentrate on those until he or she masters them and then move forward. Teaching is about patience and understanding. I have both! For beginning students, I prefer to use Essential Elements by Bruce Pearson. This is the book I learned from and have been using to teach. I enjoy this book because of its progression system and the incorporation of solos throughput instead of just exercises for the students to play through. As the students advance, I will pick or allow them to pick solos that will highlight their strengths as players. Read More

I love to teach students from the beginning how to have good habits such as, breathing from the belly area. Not only practicing this to support a beautiful tone on the flute, but recognizing how developing a supportive breath practice also reduces stress..
