I was born with an "educator" mindset, and began teaching early on in my personal music studies. I began teaching about 10 years ago, in 2010, after getting into my undergraduate studies for music performance. I have taught all levels and in many different settings: To-date I have taught ages 6 through 65. I have taught in formal school system classrooms, private music studios, community centers and at a student's home. I believe that no matter the level or style, evey singer benefits from understanding the way their vocal anatomy functions, and how to utilize it in a healthy way. I have taught music since I was in Highschool. It wasn't just lessons for middle schoolers or young children. I taught and ran my high school's Jazz Band when I was a Junior and Senior. My most important objective is to help students love piano and find it fun and enjoyable to learn. I began teaching private piano lessons in the fall of 2015. I have taught both adults and children, and have found the experience very rewarding, especially with adult learners. I got my own start in music very late, and was actively discouraged in my youth from pursuing it--so one of my main goals as an educator is to motivate students and encourage them that they can still be performers.
