I believe anyone has the ability to learn music. I feel it is my duty to help my students discover their own musical path. It is my passion to show you, you have the ability to overcome any obstacles you may face in music. On May 1st I graduated from Weber State University with my Bachelors in K-12 Music Education. I got the chance to be instructed by great minds like Viktor Uzur (known worldwide for the Richter/Uzur Duo) and work along side talented students like Fan Ya Lin (pianist with a professorship at Julliard). When we teach music, we share the joy of the songs of life with each other! When we learn music together as teacher and learner, we unlock the treasures of sound and allow songs to break forth. I have a great passion for teaching music! Making music makes the world a better place. Music is, however, demanding and requires regular practice in order to improve. Improving a musical project brings us deeper into the actual piece of music we would study together. Read More

I am a very hands-on teacher. We do lots of improvisation and call and response games and sometimes I turn on a record or even bring a guitar to jam with the student. Playing drums is a very visceral, tactile excersize, and I often tell students, "That right there, that is how it's supposed to sound! Memorize that feeling and try to recreate it everytime." I am also a huge advocate of having students listen to as much music as possible. Read More

When I teach teenagers or adults I usually start with Alred’s Basic Adult Piano Course Book, as well as a music theory book that is suited to the student. I like Alfred’s series for the young beginner as well, but have also used the Bastien series. For voice students I use a warm up book and a sight singing book. My students keep a music notebook of the week’s assignments in which I also make music theory notes and explanations. Read More

I started teaching privately as a student at Pacific Lutheran University. I taught a steady 4 students, while also doing coaching for the theater department when musical season came along. I have been sightreading music once before I could read English, and I am well-versed is several different sets of training booklets for piano. One of the only ways to learn music, is to have fun while doing it. I like to think my sense of humor can help dissolve tough lessons. Read More

I completed their rigorous course of study and became a Certified McClosky Voice Technician (CMVT) in 2017. Studying the McClosky Voice Technique opened up a whole new world for me and my skill with speaking and singing improved dramatically. I can guarantee you that I can help you correct any voice related frustrations you might have, for example Lack of endurance Trouble accessing your whole range with ease Breaks and other limiting issues Vocal fry Your voice giving out just when you need it to soar A weak voice or inability to project Repetitive hoarseness and strain Being hoarse after work Stage fright Limited flexibility Monotone speaking Needing to grab breaths too often Inability to speak or sing long phrases Trouble singing expressively Wabbles, bleats, breathiness, and other unpleasant sounds Its all fixable, but only if you are willing to slow down and become sensitive to how your body wants to sing and speak. Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
