Instruments: Violin Viola

I have been teaching violin and viola for the last 10 years. My students have ranged from 4 thru 25 years of age. I love teaching the violin and viola to students who desire to learn the instruments regardless of their goals for the instrument. I like to be encouraging and positive in lessons! I also like to maintain a certain standard :)! I think developing consistency in practice even if it starts at 15 mins a day is key to success. There is a lot of muscle memory and training involve and it requires consistency. I do my best to set realistic and clear weekly goals for each student and encourage them along the way! I find if one is consistent with practice, usually within a semester (6 months) or earlier, one can play their first song and feel comfortable to perform in public within 1 years time! Read More

In terms of books and repertoire, I do love using Hal Leonard for beginners. Once fundamentals are in place we can explore repertoire together so that the student is truly learning music they love and enjoy. Read More
