All voice students will gain a working knowledge of English, Italian, French, and German basic translations, pronunciation, and performance styles; along with IPA phonetics. Theory and Composition students will work from Alfred's Essentials of Music Theory and William Russo's Composing Music as well as supplemental activities. They will compose both by hand and with Finale. Advanced students will be introduced to symphonic composition, arranging, and orchestration. For beginning students, I typically start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements, Suzuki, and easy scales. Once the student has progressed and appears to grasp the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce etudes and solo pieces. I also teach students elementary music theory related to the pieces they are learning. For advanced students, I focus more on their technique and performance. As a soloist and chamber musician, I am regularly playing concerts around the world, in countries like Germany, France, Luxembourg, Spain, Austria, Czech Republic, Russia, Lithuania and of course throughout the US. Being able to share my love for music as well as my knowledge and experience through teaching others means a lot to me and I am very passionate about it.
