For example, learning how to be a team player, creativity, and the reward of daily practice teaches the student about success in many different contexts. I do expect my students to practice at least four to five times a week so that lessons are as productive as they can be. For my beginner students who are either children or adults, I will typically start your training using the methods Hal Leonard's Essential Elements or Klose methods books.Once you have grasped the fundamentals of your instruments and training, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for your first recital performance such as the works of Mozart, Rose, and Benny Goodman etc. However, for the adults or more advanced players, I will try to find out what most interest you and guide my instruction according to your abilities to keep the lessons more engaging and fun. I love playing and teaching the trumpet. I spent much of my time growing up involved in various musical endeavors, and performed with numerous ensembles in college. While I did not pursue a music degree, I continued to study under professional musicians, and worked diligently at my craft. Music is not my career, but it is a passion that I enjoy greatly outside of my DC office.
