I am currently attended the University of Texas at Arlington, where I am working on my Master of Music in Trumpet Performance. After that I received a bachelors degree in Jazz Studies from the University of North Texas and then a masters degree in trumpet performance from the University of Texas at Arlington. I keep a busy schedule as a freelance musician and perform regularly with the Dallas Jazz Orchestra. I also do the occasional the tour with different groups. I strive to have a positive and friendly relationship with students. Respect of eachother is also important. I teach each student uniquely and do not stick to a "cookie cutter" approach. Everyone has unique physiology and strengths and weaknesses, so each person should be taught according to their specific characteristics. I also try to explain playing processes and ideas clearly to ensure comprehension. I often use analogies, comparisons, and visuals to make teaching concepts more clear. Read More
