For beginners, I generally start with the Faber piano adventures primer. However, that is only a starting point. I like to focus on first-rate piano literature which progresses in difficulty. Concepts are introduced as needed. Often, I have the student pick which pieces they might be interested in and set reasonable goals. This applies to students of all skills and ages.
