In 2012, I was the woodwind specialist and helped with the overall coordination of the music for La Salle High school in Cincinnati, Oh. This band won the MSBA Midstate Championship in Class AA. From 2013-2014 I maintained a small studio of saxophone students from many the programs I had worked with to that point. in 2015 I was a Graduate Assistant at Belmont University, I taught "overflow" lessons, non-major/secondary lessons, for my major mentor. My teaching style focuses on a student's strengths and successes. Any time a student has an "a ha!" moment, we stop and dissect what exactly happened. Perhaps the student used a new lip placement or air angle? We talk about this and figure out what they did to improve. Next, I encourage that same type of change in other aspects of their playing. I'm a licensed teacher that enjoys sharing my passion for music. In December 2016, I graduated from Lipscomb University with a Bachelor of Music degree in Instrumental Music Education. Performing as part of Cedar Creek Community Band, Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, and Orchestra Pit has given me a variety of experiences to inform my teaching. In addition to my private studio, I am the flute instructor for several marching bands in the Tri-Cities area.
