I have a Masters degree in music composition from the University of Memphis with a minor in music theory. I also have a bachelors degree in music composition from Texas A&M at Commerce Texas with a minor in piano. Since graduating from college i have been conducting after school music programs for many local schools as well as teaching private lessons from my music studio. During my master's degree at University of Louisiana, I was a teacher of record for a woodwind technique course, which focused on scales and supplementary lessons to the student's lesson with the flute professor. I teach according to each students learning ability and I also love to challenge my students to help with their daily practice time. Depending on the level of advancement , we will determine the materials that is needed for each lesson. If its a beginner they will start on the basic learnings and fundamentals of music to help them better understand the lesson. Passion, commitment, and love are three words that I would say accurately summarize my feelings about music and the music industry. I was raised in a music home. There were few times in my life where music wasn't a paramount. In high school I was in marching band and jazz band. I loved these experiences so much that I wanted to major in music education in college. This is why I place importance on listening to the student's goals to make decisions for certain parts of the curriculum.
