Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

I work with Rubank or any method books provided by their band instructor. There will be supplemental materials, especially for more advanced students, that are instrument specific such as etudes and technical exercises. We will continue focusing on band literature, contemporary, classical, or solo literature depending on the goals of the students and their interests. While there are some general methods, it is best to meet the student where their needs are and tailor the specific methods to those needs. Read More

I played, at the age of 15, in the Venezuelan National Symphonic Band conducted by Berliner Philharmonics trumpet player Thomas Clamor. I was also in the Ad-Libitum woodwind quintet and during my three years in that ensemble, I received master classes with the Berlin Philharmonic woodwind Quintet in two music festivals and Arturo Marquez in another festival. First, I believe it is important all students have a firm grasp on the fundamentals of the instrument, which may include some scale exercises, for example. Once we achieve a basic level, we can move along to some solo repertoire, etudes, and tunes that target a specific area to keep lessons fun and engaging, all while reaffirming subjects learned previously. Regarding jazz and improvisation, lessons will cover a broad spectrum, ranging from modal improvisation, to bebop and postmodern styles, all while focusing on harmonic functionality and individual expression. My teaching style is fairly relaxed, a student needs to enjoy the lessons or we are really wasting our time. There is no reason for music lessons to be dreary, almost all of my students enjoy their lessons and have no problem coming back week after week to be challenged again.
