My teaching expereince dates back to before I graduated undergraduate school. Since I had a semester to wait for Commencement, I was afforded an opportunity to work as a Teacher assistant, in an Open Classroom Learning Environment. This immediately preceded a very rewarding Student Teaching experience in the rural southern state of North Carolina. I am currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Oboe Performance at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts studying with Jaren Atherholt. As an orchestral player, I have had the privilege performed with the UNCSA Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Maestros Larry Rachleff and Christopher Lees, and with the UNCSA Ballet Orchestra in their 2018 and 2019 production of The Nutcracker. My teaching style is very regimented in the direction goal-setting and interests. Realistically setting goals is important for students of all abilities. Comparison from one student to the other is detrimental to the student's success as a musician, so I will tailor the progress to fit every need. I will also get the student involved with groups where they can further their learning and abilities.
