Instruments: Piano, Voice, Saxophone, Flute, Synthesizer

In the past I have carefully guided students through the selection of materials that would insure steady, gradual progress. Learning a musical instrument should be a fun and enjoyable experience with a sense of personal satisfaction and fulfillment. I place great emphasis on areas such as theory, harmony, transposition, ear training, sight-reading, improvisation and areas of interest to the student such as musical styles.  Whether you aspire to one day play professionally, attend a music school or just play for your own enjoyment, we can set goals together to reach the level you desire.  Read More

For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. The first lesson i assess the student's ability - whether they can play, read music, and what kind of music they like. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their level. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. Read More

I began teaching during my sophomore year of college. I have had the opportunity to instruct all ranges of age groups as well as different sizes of ensembles. I emphasize the importance of regular practice routines with my students, as it leads them to better understand what they need to improve upon as well as helps me to help them achieve the goals they are wishing to reach in their playing.
