I have had many experiences in my pursuit of Music throughout the Eastern Seaboard. I have had professional singing experiences as well in a few varied genres, include Gospel, Spiritual and Classical musics. My professional training in Education has afforded me the luxury of teaching in a variety of educational settings ranging from Pre-School to Adult Continuing Education. To culminate my work experiences in Therapeutic Music as both a Recreation Specialist and Music Therapist, I completed one year of study at New York University and have plans to one day finish a program I started there. I have also maintained my skill at performance on Woodwinds and Classical guitar, which I enjoy especially having students to prepare for. For beginning students, I start with the Essential Elements book. If the student has already taken lessons or is in their school band/orchestra, I encourage moving onto the Rubank Elementary, Intermediate, and Advanced method books depending on ability. Once a student has proven that they are able to handle it, I will start on solo repertoire. Particularly for college-bound musicians who wish to major in music, the majority of their lessons will be based on preparing solo literature for All District or college auditions. Read More

I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. In 1977, I graduated from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Performance. In 1999, I was certified to teach Music K-12 by the state of North Carolina after attending NC Central University.
