I am a highly profesional, diverse, and easy to work with musician with an abundance of real-word experience that includes public gigging and private instruction. I graduated on a full scholarship from University of Miami in 2014, the most renowned music school in South Florida and one of the most progressive universities in the country. I've been fortunate enough to perform in many different places and play different styles of music such as the Broward Center for the Performing Arts and the Next Generation Jazz Festival in California. The number 1 key to a great lesson is to ensure the student is comfortable within the lesson and that they are having fun. For Vocal lessons in young beginner students, I typically walk through a few fun silly warm-ups, and breath exercises to get their voice moving free, then allow the student to sing "happy birthday" or another short song to determine pitch range. For beginning students, I prefer to use Essential Elements by Bruce Pearson. This is the book I learned from and have been using to teach. I enjoy this book because of its progression system and the incorporation of solos throughput instead of just exercises for the students to play through. As the students advance, I will pick or allow them to pick solos that will highlight their strengths as players. Read More

I am an organized teacher and lessons are structured to accommodate technique development and fun solo work. Each month we will set a goal, and build a weekly plan to get you to accomplish that goal. I ask students to keep a journal of their goals and practice time focus so we can measure how we're working to our goal. We will always do warm up exercises, scale of the week to improve sight-reading, finger twisters to improve technical ability, and solo work of your choosing to put all that practice into action!
