I try to have as much fun as possible while still maintaining a high expectiation of performance.  I am, by trade and training, a comedian, so jokes and laughter abound. Most of my students might say I'm not as funny as I think I am, but we still have fun! I am, however a stickler for learning the basics of music theory and correct use of vocabulary. I begain teaching as a band assistant in college. I would lead sectionals and work with students who where struggiling one on one. As I gained experiance my role and responsibly grew and I began to run rehearsals and plan for concerts. One aspect of lessons that I emphasise is musicality. Admittedly limited, my teaching experience started when I was in High School when I became the marching Band's trumpet section leader. I really enjoyed sharing my knowledge and experience with otherswatching people grow in their musicianship is an incredible reward for me and I'd love to experience it more in my life! I am a preschool music teacher that has experience in over a few hundred instruments I put my two strongest instruments up however I do offer a lot of more as well. I have been a music educator since I was 13 years old. My former students have played at Disneyland, opened for Mumford and sons, played in the drum corps international program as a soloist, and much more. I love teaching the trombone! I think more kids should check it out, and adults should continue playing throughout their lives even if it isn't a profession. I am a graduate from the Lamont School of Music in DU, and received my bachelor's at Cal State Northridge, both degrees in performance. I've played in venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York and the Kennedy Center in DC. I am classically trained but also love to play jazz music. Read More
