For the beginning student, I begin with the fundamentals of breathing and application to the first tone. I spend the first three to four lessons developing good habits of proper air and tone production. Following this, I begin with using the approved method book that correlates with the instruction that the student is receiving at school. If there is no method book available, I will begin with a discussion with my student and decide together what method book is best for their education. Read More

For my students we also look at the theory behind the music we are playing and use various theory worksheets that work on rhythm or we work out of a basic theory book that works best for the student. I am particularly interested in Neuroscience and how it can be applied to music. Read More
