Currently, I teach at at an elementary school in Palm Beach County. (Florida Public Schools) I am teaching ages k-5 general music, chorus, and band. The instruments I teach weekly include trumpets, violins, flutes, keyboards, piano, guitar, and bass. When I student taught high school teachers at the Boston Latin School, (Boston Public Schools) I taught chorus, string ensembles, AP music theory and all ensemble instruments in every family. My teaching philosophy encourages exploration of music with a focus on the uniqueness of each individual student and their particular aspirations, typically emphasizing reading classical music and improvising solos for Jazz or other more contemporary styles while having fun growing as a musician! I try to make sure lessons are fun and rewarding by adapting my teaching style to focus on the student's learning style and interests. My teaching experience dates back to four years ago when I had completed my AA degree in Music and I had decided to volunteer teaching music to both my old secondary school (high school) and the Barbados Pathfinder Band recruit program which I was a Band member of.
