His busy career so far has included conducting top level concert bands, jazz ensembles, orchestras, pit orchestras, and chamber groups during his tenure in public and private schools and camps in Virginia and Wisconsin. I have been a part of the City Music program for the last decade, both in Cleveland and in Boston. Through that, I have been able to both receive and pass on an excellent music education. I was a mentor for younger students when I was college, leading me to be involved in the local high school big bands. I would lead rehearsals, saxophone sectionals, and work one on one with students to make sure they were creatively and mentally engaged and that they knew what areas they could work on to improve. For individual study, I use a number of diverse methods, depending on the needs and goals of the student. Beginner students will start with the Hal Leonard Beginner series, focused on mastering the fundamentals. Once a students has mastered the foundational technical scales, arpeggios, articulation; and understanding of time and tempo, we can proceed to augmenting the classical studies with jazz studies. For more intermediate - advanced students, we continue with the Hal Leonard series and augment with the Paul DeVille Universal Method for Saxophone, Klose 25 Daily Exercises, Voxman Selected Studies Books, and transcriptions of Bach (Cello Suites) and Taffanel (Flute Studies). He has performed with the ISO Symphonic Band and ISO Symphonic Symphony at notable venues, such as Carnegie Hall and Symphony Space. Anthony has also performed as the lead alto in Xaverian High School’s Senior Jazz Band for the Cherry Blossom Festival in Kyoto, Japan. In 2008, Anthony furthered his musical proficiency by enrolling as a participant in the prominent French Woods Camp in New York.
