I have been playing saxophone for over 20 years! I've been teaching private lessons since my college days at Eastern Illinois University. Since then I have gone on to teach High School Jazz Band, General Music and Orchestra at several schools in Chicago and it's suburbs.  

Beginning students need to achieve a solid grasp of the fundamentals in order to ensure future success while enjoying their lessons and having fun! In my studio they will learn to take care of their instruments, play with proper and efficient technique and posture. The majority of repertoir will be provided in a Hal Leonard, Essential Element Book.  Intermediate students will begin to expand their range and fluidity while playing scales and solo repertoir. We will also work to devolope their ability to play with the stylistic expression necessary to perform classical and jazz saxophone. Students will also learn basic music theory and jazz improvisation. Advanced students work to master their classical saxophone by perfecting rapid and exciting technical pieces while learning to play with passion and grace in slower, lyrical selections. Advanced students seeking jazz saxophone skills will be able to take advantage of my extensive library of jazz repertoir and literature. Students would be able to practice and perform with me accompanying them on piano or with play-along audio tracks.
