Teaching is one of the most rewarding careers there can be! As I have stated before I love sharing my knowledge for music and I think its important to communicate with my students and observe them to see how they approach the learning. I like to personally adjust and tailor each session to the student and their level so that they can learn at their own pace. Keeping a positive attitude during the session is a must and it keeps the student engaged and happy while also learning! Read More

I absolutely love music! My love for music affects the way I teach others. I graduated with a doctoral degree in Vocal Pedagogy and Performance from University of Miami and a Master of Music degree from the University of Kentucky in 2011 and have enjoyed a varied and rewarding music career since then. I've had the opportunity to perform with and for a variety of cultures. I like to bring these experiences into my music studio. Read More

For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Bastien Piano Method and Faber Piano Adventures. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for them, which always includes a variety of genres in different time periods. For transferred students, I can always adjust my teaching methods based on student's needs. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. Read More

I like to select a basic book on fundamentals supplemented with blues, popular, or jazz or seasonal music to Motivate the student. There will be some attention to scales and how chords are built along with other theory as it applies to the pieces they are studying. Some attention is required due to the cycle of fifths and why some keys are selected more than others. I expect the student to review our lesson no less that 4 times a week and not all at once just before the next lesson. Read More
