My teaching style focuses on learning and playing in a musical fashion. Whether the student is playing and exercise or a composition it always should sound musical. I want my students to internalize what they are playing so that it can become a part of them. They should become one with the music. I set realistic goals which will change along with the progression of the student. I believe in giving them positive feedback along with constructive critiques. Read More

I am a musician, composer, and educator seeking to share my musical knowledge with students who are eager to learn. I was born into a musical family, and was exposed to great music from an early age. Following my musical education, attaining my Bachelor's of Music Performance at Ohio State University and then a Master's of Music at Western Michigan University, I worked as a musician for Royal Caribbean Cruises, performing alto saxophone, flute, and clarinet as part of the Show Band aboard the Radiance of the Seas. In this sense, I have quite a wide range.finger exercises and the topics discussed in the previous week are remembered at the beginning of the lesson. Although the concept of homework includes definitions that I do not find appropriate in general, it is very important for the person to work on his/her own between the two courses. writing what is required in the notebook that I find necessary for taking notes at the end of each course required to progress. I took on my first student in 2007 and found that I loved it! In being an open minded learner, I made it a point to treat my students in the same manner; thus allowing me to develop highly individualized lessons, plans, and goals for my students. I made it a point to ensure their goals and needs were in line with any external deadlines. I would encourage students to keep practice journals and to record at home practices for reference.
