I love music, and I love seeing my students grow through their own musical success! We start our first lessons with a foundation of basic musical ideas, which focus on connecting the keyboard to the written notes. In addition to developing a good ear, I believe that a strong music reading foundation is key to my students' success. If a student is not encouraged to try other things, most of the time they will not. Music is a way of life; it can form us into who we are, if studied regularly from an early age. If a teacher is able to develop a student's interest in   music from an early stage, the student will find that the spiritual, intellectual, and emotional rewards of such passion for music are endless. It teaches responsibility, accountability, balance, and enhances spatial, auditory, visual, memory, and reading abilities. To play the piano is a balancing act that is healthy for the brain. I've taught Medical students, PhD Psychology majors, Business Majors, and of course Piano Majors and Minors. At any rate, I thank you for the support you have shown. If you are interested in lessons please do not hesitate to contact Musika to get in touch with me. Read More

If you want to remain "goal-free" (for example, because you used to have some forceful teacher, punishing you for your "lack of dedication" or the like), I have a blast simply looking into facets of music with a curious student. The most important part of teaching, for me, is to see my students developing a love for music.  Each student is different and will show their skills/talents in different ways and at different paces.  I am patient to let students grow in their own way while also challenging them to be the best they can be.  I love to laugh with my students and develop a rapport with them that makes them feel comfortable in the lesson environment.
