For my intermediate students, we start by using Taffanel and Gaubert Grand Exercises for technique. I also require my students to have Trevor Wye books for tone and technique. Exactly how a lesson unfolds varies from student to student in order to fit the needs and desires of each individual student. Each student and I will determine what pace works best for that student. For beginning students on violin we start with many techniques found in the Suzuki method. From there, we jump into different styles of music while still focusing on developing solid technical foundations for the student. Once we move into standard repertoire the lessons begin to change based on what the student needs. I am a firm believer in consistent practice. I would much rather have a student who practices daily for 15 minutes then a student who does not practice except for the day before their lesson for two hours. Read More

Voice- Depending on how long the lesson is we work on vocal warmups then work on a song. In a 30 min lesson we do vocal warmups for 10 minutes then work on a song fir 20 minutes.Learning the proper vocal technique.
